Well, I know it's early to be planning Rebekah's birthday party in detail, but for some reason it's all I can think about! So, I thought I'd share what our plans are so far. Rebekah LOVES books, so we thought it would be fitting to have her first birthday party about books. (Plus, if her birthday is anything like Christmas was, she will probably love the boxes and wrapping paper more than anything, anyway!) My idea was that for gifts, instead of toys, everyone could bring her a book that has special meaning to them (whether they have a fond childhood memory of it or if they just really like the storyline, etc.) and write inside of the book, sharing why they brought that particular one. This way we are able to build Rebekah's book collection and each book will have sentimental meaning to Bekah when she gets older. So, we've bought decorations (hot pink, purple and green paper goods and I'm making a banner out of book-shaped cut outs) and I've made invitations already. We even bought her a pink sash for her to wear that says "Princess" and a party hat. We can't wait to celebrate the big day! It seems like only yesterday we found out we were having her!
I decided to post some pictures to catch everyone up on our adventures in being new parents over the past year! Yes, there are a lot…oh well! Enjoy!

8 Months: Merry Christmas! Rebekah had just started doing this thing where we ask, "How big are you?" and she raises her arms and we say "So big!"
