I unexpectedly got the day off from watching Olivia today. Unfortunately, her mom's grandfather has cancer and has just been told that he has 2-3 weeks to live at best. He's already been in the hospital for a while now, but evidently it has spread pretty fast. From what Denise (yes, her mom has my name) has told me, he has already told relatives that he wants to go "home" and that he doesn't want to fight to live. I believe he is only in his early 70's and Denise is really close to him. That said, she and her family are going to Salado to see him and be with family during this time. Please pray for the Denise and her husband as well as her side of the family to be able to get through this difficult time. I know that God is awesome and that He can heal her grandfather, whether that means by taking him Home or performing a miracle. Either way, I thank you in advance for lifting them up in your prayers.

On a lighter note, today was Jason's day off too. So he, Rebekah, and I got to spend the entire day together - something we don't get too often. So we started off by sleeping in really late (honestly it was so good, but I felt a little guilty for staying in bed so long!) and then ate breakfast together at home. We basically relaxed and got some really good play time in as a family. At one point Jason got called to do something for the apartments and Rebekah played while I talked to my sister on the phone. This is what I looked over and saw:
She was throwing her diapers all over the place, and then she found her box of shoes (the ones that don't fit her anymore) and was dropping them behind her. She also was trying to put them on, but I wasn't fast enough with my camera! I love her facial expressions and how in the bottom picture she is on her tiptoes to get to the back of the box.
Later, Rebekah and I took a nap (I only slept for about 30 minutes, but she slept a whopping 2 hours! Thank you Lord!=) while Jason got some game time in on the computer. When we woke up we went to one of my favorite places to eat for dinner - On the Border!
Lately our favorite thing to do there is to eat lots of their yummy tortillas and chips and salsa (we added queso today, too) and then split a meal. It's cost effective and it satisfies my endless craving for homeade tortillas! When we were done, we stopped and got an ice cream cone at Chick-fil-a and then visited the little playground (if you can call it that) at our apartment complex. We let Bekah walk around a little bit and we put her on the swing with us. It was more for older kids, and the sand was muddy, so we only took a few pictures and didn't stay too long. But we still enjoyed it. Overall, it was such a fun and relaxing day with my hubby and our "baby girl". It's always refreshing to get to enjoy the company of my sweet family.

On a random sidenote, Jason was showing me his swat gear this evening and modeled his gas mask for me to demonstrate one of the drills they had to do during their training this week. (Kinda creepy... look at those eyes!)For those of you who know Jason and his "gift" of being able to break just about everything, I thought you might think it funny that one of the straps on it broke as he was trying to tighten it "just a little bit more"! I laughed so hard at this one, because he was so surprised when it snapped in his hand.

Sounds like you guys had a great day. Love the pictures of Bekah playing with the diapers and shoes. Jacob does the same thing. Take you eye off of them for a few seconds and it looks like a tornado hit the room. :)
