And last but not least...

Pictures I took today.

Rebekah has definitely inherited my love for purses and bags! She already knows how to wear them on her arm (without me showing her) and put things in them, and as a side note, she tends to put things on or around her neck, too. (I don't know where that comes from, though!) She will carry them with her all over the house. I caught a few good shots of her this morning.

By the way, for those of you who are curious to know, the move went well. We had a very successful garage sale (Praise the Lord!) and then we finally put the house on the market last week. We are just praying for it to sell quickly so we can be on our way to living debt free! (So, if you know of someone looking to buy a super cute house in Saginaw, please send them our way! =) We are still trying to make sense of the boxes still sitting in our living room and bedroom, but overall, we are getting more settled. God is good!

You are adorable as always. :) So glad the move went well. I admire you guys for making the sacrifices to live debt-free...you will be SO glad you did!
My midwife gave me a giant 4 page list of all the supplies she wanted me to have on hand. So that is what I have in the supply basket. I'm sure your midwife has one too - ask her, and if she doesn't, I can send you mine. A lot of it is stuff you probably have already around the house, but there's some random stuff too. :) So excited for you! Oh, I had Kadence in the hospital. You had Rebekah in the hospital too, right? What made you want to have a midwife? By the way, I took your advice about going to a chiropractor this time. He claims to be able to take hours off your labor - he says he's never had a labor go over 6 hours...good news for me! I'll let you know how it goes! :)

Hi! Thanks for your story - it is so interesting to hear what makes people explore their options. For us, it was a whole list of minor things. Like, our dr. was not there - it was an on-call dr. who came in for about the last 15 min. of it. That made me feel like dr's are optional. :) Also because I tested positive for Group Strep B, they made me have antibiotics in the hospital and they also made me stay 3 days which really frustrated us. Lets see...they cut the cord way before we wanted them to. They gave me local anesthetic but didn't wait for it to kick in before stitching me up which hurt more than the pushing! They coached me to push harder than I knew was necessary, and I could feel it since I had no drugs, so I tore a lot. I wish I had listened to my instincts on that one. Um, during the (3day) recovery, there were SO many people coming into our room at all hours of the day and night, needing things, asking us questions, taking the baby to do whatever without asking us, drawing my blood, whatever, and some of these people were just downright rude. It was like they had no respect for us as individual people, we were just patients to them who were being put through the system. It just felt really unnecessary and impersonal. I am SO excited to be in the comfort of my own home, with people who really care, and get to actually sleep without interruption when the baby's sleeping, and just be relaxed. I don't think hospitals are bad, and I am definitely thankful for them in case of complications. I just know that for us, this is the better option and I'm so excited! I'll let you know how it goes!

Oh my goodness I just typed out a superlong response to you about all the reasons why we chose home birth this time. And it got deleted...
I will have to tell you again later - I'm so sorry - how annoying.
