A Day Off with Daddy

I unexpectedly got the day off from watching Olivia today. Unfortunately, her mom's grandfather has cancer and has just been told that he has 2-3 weeks to live at best. He's already been in the hospital for a while now, but evidently it has spread pretty fast. From what Denise (yes, her mom has my name) has told me, he has already told relatives that he wants to go "home" and that he doesn't want to fight to live. I believe he is only in his early 70's and Denise is really close to him. That said, she and her family are going to Salado to see him and be with family during this time. Please pray for the Denise and her husband as well as her side of the family to be able to get through this difficult time. I know that God is awesome and that He can heal her grandfather, whether that means by taking him Home or performing a miracle. Either way, I thank you in advance for lifting them up in your prayers.

On a lighter note, today was Jason's day off too. So he, Rebekah, and I got to spend the entire day together - something we don't get too often. So we started off by sleeping in really late (honestly it was so good, but I felt a little guilty for staying in bed so long!) and then ate breakfast together at home. We basically relaxed and got some really good play time in as a family. At one point Jason got called to do something for the apartments and Rebekah played while I talked to my sister on the phone. This is what I looked over and saw:

She was throwing her diapers all over the place, and then she found her box of shoes (the ones that don't fit her anymore) and was dropping them behind her. She also was trying to put them on, but I wasn't fast enough with my camera! I love her facial expressions and how in the bottom picture she is on her tiptoes to get to the back of the box.

Later, Rebekah and I took a nap (I only slept for about 30 minutes, but she slept a whopping 2 hours! Thank you Lord!=) while Jason got some game time in on the computer. When we woke up we went to one of my favorite places to eat for dinner - On the Border!Lately our favorite thing to do there is to eat lots of their yummy tortillas and chips and salsa (we added queso today, too) and then split a meal. It's cost effective and it satisfies my endless craving for homeade tortillas! When we were done, we stopped and got an ice cream cone at Chick-fil-a and then visited the little playground (if you can call it that) at our apartment complex. We let Bekah walk around a little bit and we put her on the swing with us. It was more for older kids, and the sand was muddy, so we only took a few pictures and didn't stay too long. But we still enjoyed it. Overall, it was such a fun and relaxing day with my hubby and our "baby girl". It's always refreshing to get to enjoy the company of my sweet family.

On a random sidenote, Jason was showing me his swat gear this evening and modeled his gas mask for me to demonstrate one of the drills they had to do during their training this week. (Kinda creepy... look at those eyes!)
For those of you who know Jason and his "gift" of being able to break just about everything, I thought you might think it funny that one of the straps on it broke as he was trying to tighten it "just a little bit more"! I laughed so hard at this one, because he was so surprised when it snapped in his hand.

My Girls

Just wanted to share a few pictures from this morning. Bekah and Olivia love each other and are such great friends. I think they might get annoyed with each other at times, but in the end, they love to play together. It is so fun to watch!

These first 5 are from breakfast. They had waffles and blueberries. Although, I don't think Olivia was very fond of the blueberries.

Here they are playing in Rebekah's room. My sweetie likes to use the boppy pillow as her chair.

Kisses!

Belly Picture

These two pics are not the most current - they are from August 21st (I think I was in my 24th week). But I wanted to show a belly picture. Hopefully I will have an even more recent one soon!

NRH2O

Jason and I are blessed to be co-leading an awesome family lifegroup from our church. Yesterday the church had a meeting for all the family lifegroup leaders. We took Rebekah to the church to be watched in the nursery and then we went to the meeting in Grapevine. It was so nice! They fed us a yummy brunch and we listened to a few people speak about our role as leaders and give us information, and finally we dismissed and met at the NRH2O water park for fun and fellowship. They provided us lunch and unlimited drinks. Rebekah loved the water! She just didn't like getting splashed in the face or the shooting water things that sprayed her unexpectedly. I didn't get any shots of us in the water because I forgot to buy a water camera and didn't want to ruin my camera. But we met a really sweet couple that we were able to laugh with and get to know a little bit and all in all it was a great day. We are so blessed to be able to have been a part of it all! Now we just can't wait for our Fall semester of lifegroups to start!

Our attempt at a self shot.

A nice stranger offered to take our picture after watching our failed attempts!

Still playing after a really long day. She was picking up things and throwing them in this bag and then walking around the house to find more "treasures".

Randomness

Last Saturday, I went to the most gorgeous wedding ever! My friend Amber got married and the entire event was just breathtaking. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures except for the one before we left the house. Jason had to work unexpectedly, so I went with my mom while my sister took care of Rebekah. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and I wish I could share with you just how pretty everything was. Oh well, at least you can see my latest belly picture!

Today, my sister Cristina and cousin Melissa (and her son Caleb) came over for lunch. Cristina made the main dish, and Melissa and I contributed the sides. It was so much fun, and the kids had a blast playing together. We decided that we need to do it more often! (But I sure missed those precious nephews of mine!)

Here are some pictures of our Bekah Boo playing from yesterday. I was on the phone with my sister in Rebekah's room watching her and Olivia play together, when I look up and see them climbing into the toy bins. It was too cute that they figured it out together!

And finally, these are from about a week ago. Daddy showed our munchkin how to weigh herself. She actually keeps her balance really well and stays still long enough for her weight to pop up!
